mBlox, the world's largest mobile transaction network, has announced that it successfully delivered over 4.4 billion application-to-person transactions in 2010, which represents almost a billion more transactions than the previous year. Globally, the company processed 26 per cent more transactions than in 2009. Furthermore, mobile transaction revenue across Europe grew by 12 per cent in comparison to the previous year.

The company's growth and profitability has served to attract additional investment over the past year, supporting an acquisition that accelerates the on-going development of a new range of enabling services for smartphones. These new mBlox services provide merchants with an array of tools to produce secure, location-based applications for consumers, to allow increased consumer relevance and utilisation while facilitating broader mobile commerce. Products to be publicly launched this spring will enable leading brands and application developers to interact and transact with consumers on the move and process payments via a broad range of financial instruments.
Andrew Dark, CEO of mBlox, comments: "2010 was again a profitable year for mBlox, in part driven by the growth in financial services, mobile ticketing and mobile marketing. 2011 looks to be a transformational year for mBlox with the development of our smartphone enablers, supported via efficient cloud-based networking services. Given the overwhelmingly positive reception to the early evaluations by a selection of marquee brands, mBlox is perfectly positioned to maximise this opportunity by delivering highly reliable and secure transactional support. With an increase in the capture of personal and financial data, mBlox's ongoing investment in the security of our systems continues to support and differentiate our offer."
Highlighting mBlox's organic growth, the company launched the mBlox PayMobile solution in France, allowing content providers and advertisers to reference, promote and monetise their service offerings on the search engines of all three French mobile carriers. As a result, revenues in France grew by 29 per cent over the previous year.

Dark continues: "Although we have focussed on sustained growth and profitability this year, we continue our heritage of innovation. Our mBlox Sender-Pays Data solution, which allows consumers to access content without incurring additional data costs, continues to gain momentum creating a model of success for MNOs world- wide."

"Our solutions look to give the consumer access to information, content and transactions, creating rich interactions that accelerate commerce. Mobile marketing and payments are primed for unparalleled growth and mBlox will lead the market by enabling secure, personalized interactions for brands from around the globe."
