Tom Cotney mBlox CEO

Tom Cotney

Chief Executive Officer

Tom Cotney is recognized globally as an expert on the subject of operating and growing technology businesses. In both public and privately held companies, Tom‘s responsibilities have ranged from the turnaround of start-ups to managing teams of over 8,500 professionals delivering service from 3 continents to clients across the globe.

His experience includes the SaaS business model, consulting, IT outsourcing and business process outsourcing. His technical resume includes application development, IT infrastructure, and contact center management. Tom’s functional skill set includes the sales, human resources, finance, marketing and service delivery associated with these technical areas.

With IBM Global Services Tom had direct responsibility for the development, closure and delivery of nearly 50 different outsourcing agreements, including five of the company’s ten largest, and its first BPO engagement. At Apple in the early 1990’s, he had responsibility for the company’s enterprise sales force.

As the founder and CEO of ExperientPartners, Tom brings a strong base of general management expertise to investors and operators in small to mid-sized companies. With Experient, Tom has excelled in a number of roles including, CEO in turnarounds, consulting projects to companies up to $2 billion in size, board advisor to technology firms in their growth phase, and deal driver during exits.

From 2008 to 2011, Tom served as board member and CEO of  Air2Web where he orchestrated a successful exit for its investors via a sale in 2011 to Velti PLC.. Tom also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Encover, Inc., a technology enabled outsourcing provider which was acquired in November of 2010 by Synnex, Corp. Prior to accepting the position of CEO at mBlox, he served as an advisor to Catavolt, Inc., a cloud based, B2B mobile provider with an award winning solution extending legacy enterprise applications to a wide variety of mobile devices.

Tom is a summa cum laude graduate of the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia where he is a member of the Alumni Board of Directors. He is also active in the Atlanta Community having raised over $3.5 million for the United Way and related charities. Tom and his wife Kathy reside in the US. The couple has three children.

Jonas Lindeborg

Chief Technology Officer

As Chief Technology Officer, Jonas makes sure that mBlox chooses or develops the best technologies to provide its customers with compelling products and high quality service. He is also responsible for the strategic technical direction which keeps mBlox innovating in a fast-paced market.

With nearly 20 years of software development and management experience, Jonas brings a broad range of experience, from early stage start-ups to Fortune 100 companies. He has developed eCommerce solutions for the IBM ecosystem and worked for DaimlerChrysler developing safety critical compilers and embedded systems.

In 2000, Jonas joined Symbian, where he was responsible for the UIQ Technology software development team, growing it from a handful of engineers into a global 380 person organization delivering the UI and app platform for SonyEricsson and Motorola smartphones. Jonas joined Mashmobile in Lund, Sweden in 2008 and was part of the team mBlox acquired in 2010.

Jonas holds an M.B.A. in Leading Innovation from the Stockholm School of Economics.

Steve Love

Chief Financial Officer

Steve leads the global finance team at mBlox. Steve brings over twenty years of finance and accounting experience in a range of high technology areas, both large and emerging companies and public and private. Prior to mBlox, Steve served as VP Finance of Affymax, a biotechnology company, where he established planning and public company functions and helped lead the company through several public financings. Prior to Affymax, he served as VP Finance and Administration for Connetics, a pharmaceutical company, leading finance, IT and facilities prior to acquisition of the company. Prior to this post, Steve served as VP Finance of Informatica, a data warehouse developer, after working at Portal Software, a developer of customer management and billing software, where he was Controller and later led sales operations during an initial public offering and a period of seven-fold increase in quarterly revenue. Steve began his career with seven years at Ernst & Young in Palo Alto, California. He earned his B.S. and M.A. degrees in accounting from the University of Southern California.

Rob Malcolm

General Manager, EMEA and APAC

Rob joined mBlox in 2003 when the company was undergoing rapid international expansion. Today  Rob leads sales, carrier management, and messaging operations for mBlox EMEA. Over the last 9 years, Rob has held a variety of leadership positions in mBlox, from sales to engineering. Prior to joining mBlox, Rob held a variety of IT leadership positions across a number of financial companies and non-profit organizations. Rob holds a B.S. in Electronic Engineering from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal in South Africa.

Andrew Mutty

SVP Operations and Customer Services

Andrew is responsible for the global management of the company’s networks, enterprise IT and customer service, with core teams based in Sunnyvale, CA, London and Singapore. Before joining mBlox in 2007, Andrew was Network and IT Operations Director at Inspired Gaming Group (INGG) and Head of IT Networks at British Telecom. Andrew has a wealth of experience in the telecommunications and IT industries, with past roles including Operations Director at The Cloud, Senior Vice President Technology and IP at Interoute, European Chief Technical Officer at Energis Squared and Deputy CTO International World Online International/TISCALI.

Michele Turner

Chief Product Officer

Michele leads the global product team at mBlox, including product development, product management, and product marketing. Prior to mBlox, Michele was the Executive Vice President of Products at Cooliris, a venture-backed company building the next generation in rich media communications. Michele has over 20 years of experience in high-tech product marketing, product development and business management. She joined Adobe in 2006 as Vice President of the Platform Business Unit, where she was responsible for product management, product marketing and developer relations for the Adobe Flash Platform. She spent two years as a Principal at Strategic Instinct consulting where she launched several Web 2.0 and search startups. Before moving into consulting, she served as Vice President of Product Marketing and Design at Netflix. Earlier in her career, she was Senior Vice President for Product Marketing at AOL, where she helped drive product strategy, definition and delivery of AOL's Advanced Communications, Personalization, Mobile Portal and Netscape product lines. She was also Senior Vice President of Product at Excite@Home and held management positions at Silicon Graphics. Michele holds an M.B.A in Marketing and Finance from Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business.
